So we have this family friend named Brent who lived with us for a while when I was growing up and he was hilarious. While he lived with us he went to the Price Is Right and got called down to bid and it was awesome. Well, the other day he texted my sister to say that he was going to be on the Ellen show. Mary watches Ellen every day so its on our Tivo. So I pull it up and in a couple of pan shots you see him, it was awesome. Then the next day she played a couple of clips from the day before: skip to just after the 9 min mark

So this week has been the end of Conan and he's been playing some of this best of so I thought I'd post some clips so ya'll can enjoy too.

Game Night

So last night, since Jenny and Nathan are here and Nathan was leaving today, we decided to have a little game night at our house. Keith and Kathy and Sally came over to play games with Jenny, Nathan, Mary and I. After Keith and Kathy left, we decided to play Scattergories. There's just something about this game that brings out some pretty funny answers:

Category: ice cream flavor. Letter: F.
Mary's Answer: Fruiti Tutti. She thought she was so clever, too bad its the other way around.

Category: halloween costumes. Letter: S.
You'd thing Skeleton, Skarecrow, Snake, Satan, about a 1/2 dozen other answers, but at the last second, Nathan decides to write down: slut. Apparently, at the last minute, Nathan's mind gets dirty.

Category: Musicians. Letter: G.
Sally didn't actually write this, but in the discussion after the round we were talking about this one and she asked, "What about those guys, Garfile and Funkfiler?". We didn't really realize who she meant, until I realized she was talking about Simon and Garfunkel. We all had a pretty good laugh.

Category: Terms of Affection. Letter: A.
I was particularly proud of my answer Angel for this one, but I was sure Nathan was going to answer the same since we had already answered the same on so many others. But when it got around to Nathan, he explained that this was also a last minute answer, and the best answer of the night. Ass Hole.

Newly Discovered Gold

So, I just found this awesome show: Clark & Michael. It stars Michael Cera (from Arrested Development and Superbad). Its about him and his friend writing a script and trying to sell it in Hollywood. They decide to tape their antics so that "when the show gets picked up" they can sell the extra footage for the DVD sales or something. Anyways. Theres 10 episodes, each about 10 minutes long. Its super funny. The intro will have you spitting milk out your nose. Those outfits are hilarious. Theres tons of cameos. Andy Richter (from one of the other funniest shows, "The Andy Richter Show"), David Cross (he played Tobias in Arrested Development), Tony Hale (the guy that played Buster on Arrested Development), and Patton Oswald (Comedian). Anyways, here's a preview for the series I found.

Yahoo 404

For those of you who aren't in the internet world as much as I am... here is why this is funny; If you go to a webpage that is down, or your local internet is down, you get a "404 error". This usually indicates that the site you are going to is down. I've got nothing against yahoo, but this is just funny. I wonder if they did it on purpose.

You never know...

So last week, after Mary and I were married, we drove her new car to San Diego and boarded the ms Ooesterdam: a Holland America Cruise ship, and cruised our way down to Mexico. Besides the cruise being absolutely amazing, the were great food and entertainment on the ship... So we would stuff our faces, then sit down to watch a show... a great way to get in shape.

The first night was a comedian who we missed, not realizing that dinner was a 3 hour production... serisouly, 3 hours. It was really good though. Anyways, the 2nd night was a dance production, that was pretty lame, but Mary seemed to be having a good time, and what else were we gonna do... I won't answer that but I know what you are thinking, and you should see someone about that dirty mind. The music wasn't all that bad, a bunch of rock and roll songs from the 60s and 70s so I couldn't completely complain. Anyways, the 3rd night was an Elton John impersonator. Mary and I thought the same thing going in, give it a try, and when it sucks so bad we can't stand it, we'll go do the sing along in the piano bar. Boy were we wrong.

The entertainer was named Joel Mason, and he came out dressed like this. I couldn't believe it. The best part, that you can't really catch from the video was his giant shoes. GIANT. they were at least 8-12 inches tall. And he was playing the piano with them. and playing it well. He prefaced each songs by saying it was his absolute favorite song ever. Which was super funny. And his renditions were right on. He looked like Elton, right down to the glasses, which were actual Elton John glasses that he bought from an auction. He even left the stage to come back as Elton in the Black/White suite with one side white, one side black. He looked a ton like him and the show was super fun.

Later in the trip they did an American Idol type thing on the boat and Julie Barr, the comedian, and Joel Mason were 2 of the judges, along with Michelle the cruise director who liked her job entirely too much.

Anyways, we were both pleasently surprised. Neither of us could believe that his show was super funny, and extremely entertaining. A few gay jokes always spice up the comedy. So if you are ever asked if you want to see Joel Mason, Elton John impersonator... run, don't walk to his show, you won't regret it.
